Combining AI with editing
The dual-control loop — draft with chat, refine by hand — plus what the AI actually does, coherence mode and undo (⌘Z).

AI Chat
The core principle is dual control: anything chat can do also has a keyboard-and-mouse path, and vice versa. So the most natural loop is to draft fast with chat, then fine-tune the wording by hand.

What the AI actually does
AI chat does not just write text — it performs real product actions for you. Here is a sampling of what you can ask.
Proposal: draft it, append a section, or replace a specific part
Deck: build and edit slides
Prototype: write the code and run it (⌘R)
Video, share, invite: set a video, toggle a share link, invite members (some need owner permission, enforced on the server)
Sensitive actions like turning on a share link or inviting members are owner-only, and permission is checked on the server. Without the right role the request simply will not run — so there is nothing to worry about.
Shared chat (collaboration)
If your project has teammates, the chat is one shared conversation everyone sees, attributed by name. So the thread doubles as a work log of who asked for what.
Coherence mode
When the AI edits one artifact, coherence mode keeps the others consistent with it — so changing a product name or a key figure in the proposal can flow through to the deck.
Suggest: related changes are collected as suggestions you confirm before applying.
Auto: consistency changes are applied automatically.
Off: only the artifact you asked about is edited, with no linked changes.
When starting out, leave it on Suggest — you get to see what changes where before applying, which feels safe. Switch to Auto for speed once you know the flow.
Undoing changes
You can ask the chat to undo/redo the AI’s proposal edits, while your own typed edits undo with the usual ⌘Z (redo ⇧⌘Z). The two paths keep their own history but act on the same document — so just remember that whatever you try, you can take it back.

Build the big structure with chat, then hand-tweak a single sentence or number yourself — it is faster. In collaboration the chat stream is shared, so your instructions double as a record for the team.
Can I edit by hand what the chat made?
Yes — that is the recommended way. Thanks to dual control, chat and hands-on editing act on the same document, so move freely between them.
Do I see instructions my teammates send?
Yes. The chat is one shared conversation for project members, and each message shows who sent it.
What if the AI removes something by mistake?
Ask the chat to “undo that”, or press ⌘Z if it was your own edit. To roll back further, use version history.
