Collaboration
A project can start as a solo space and grow into a team space whenever you’re ready. This guide walks you from “what collaboration even means” all the way to “how to invite a teammate by email.” No prep needed — inviting takes just a few clicks.
Invited teammates edit the same project in real time and share the same AI chat — meaning you can polish the proposal, deck, and everything else together.
Collaborator (member)
Someone you’ve invited to a project so they can view and edit it with you.
Owner
The person who created the project. A few actions — inviting/managing members, toggling the share link — are owner-only.
Role
The permission level that decides who can do what. Owners and members can do slightly different things.
Share link
A read-only link that lets people just *view* your work without being invited — great for anyone who doesn’t need to edit.
Open the Members panel
To invite anyone, first open the Members panel. Press ⌘⇧M, or search “협업자 관리” (Manage collaborators) in the command palette (⌘K).
Open the Members panel
Search “Manage collaborators”
Two ways to open the Members panel.
⌘ is the Command key on a Mac. On Windows/Linux, use Ctrl instead (⌘⇧M → Ctrl+Shift+M).
Invite by email
Open the Members panel with ⌘⇧M.
You’re ready when the panel shows the current member list and an email field. Only the project owner can send invites.
Enter the person’s email address and send the invite.
It’s fine if they don’t have a nidavellir account yet. After sending, they appear in the list as “invited (pending).”
They receive an email with an invite link and join the project by accepting at /invite/<token>.
The moment they accept, they become a full member and can start co-editing right away.
Here’s when inviting makes sense:
Co-edit
“You want a coworker to help write the proposal → invite them with their work email.”
Get feedback
“You want your manager to review with comments → invite them so they can comment and @mention.”
Invitations work even for people without an account — opening the link and signing in (or up) makes them a collaborator right away.
Roles & owner-only actions
Roles govern who can do what; a few actions are owner-only.
Owner-only: managing members and toggling the public share link.
Members: co-edit the project live, and can leave the project themselves whenever they like.
If someone only needs to view, toggle a read-only share link (⌘⇧S) instead of inviting them — no account required.
A typo in the email address could send the invite to the wrong person — double-check the spelling before you send.
Can I invite someone who has no account yet?
Yes. They get an invite email, then sign in or sign up from the link to become a collaborator right away.
Can a member leave a project?
Yes. A member can leave whenever they like. Managing the member list itself is owner-only.
Does inviting someone expose my billing or other projects?
No. An invite applies to that one project only — other projects and your account settings aren’t shared.
