Mobile App
Ever wanted to keep working on nidavellir when you are away from your computer? That is exactly what the iOS and Android apps are for. The app wraps the same workspace you already use on the web, shaped to fit a phone, so there is almost nothing new to learn. Jot down an idea on the train, ask the AI for a draft on the go, or glance over a deck right before a meeting.
The one thing to relax about first: there is only one account. Sign in on your phone with the account you already use on the web and both places show the same projects. You never make a separate "phone account".
The screen adjusts to mobile on its own. Instead of the wide side-by-side layout, you get a bottom navigation bar, and buttons and lists grow to a comfortable size for your fingers. In short, it tidies itself into a phone-friendly shape for you.
1. Signing in
The first time you open the app you land on a sign-in screen. Sign in with the same Google account you use on the web. Do just that, and your projects follow you automatically.
Open the app and tap “Sign in with Google”.
A list of Google accounts already on your phone appears.
Choose the same account you use on the web.
Double-check the account email matches the one from the web.
If a permission screen appears, continue.
After signing in, your home screen and project list appear in a moment.
No nidavellir account yet? No problem — the same “Sign in with Google” above also creates your account. See Create an account for details.

Work on the go
From install to working on the go — the mobile flow.
2. Installing the app
You install the app from your store, just like any other app. Follow the steps below.
Open the App Store on iPhone/iPad, or Google Play on Android.
Find the store icon on your home screen.
Search for “nidavellir” in the search box.
If the spelling feels tricky, tap the autocomplete suggestion.
Tap Get / Install to download it.
When it finishes, an Open button replaces it in the same spot.
Tap Open to launch it, then sign in as in step 1 above.
After signing in, projects you made on the web show up in the list.
3. Upgrading Pro / Team in the app
You can move up to a paid plan straight from your phone. In the app you upgrade to Pro or Team through an in-app purchase — the App Store on iOS or Google Play on Android. This does not make a new account: it upgrades the same account and subscription you already have, so the upgraded plan also applies on the web.
One thing to remember: for a store in-app purchase, billing, refunds and cancellations follow each store’s policies and billing (App Store / Google Play). It is separate from web card checkout, so you cancel or change this subscription in that store’s subscription settings. For plan differences and web billing, see Manage your subscription; for prices, see Plans and pricing.
Or add to Home Screen (PWA)
You can create a home-screen icon without downloading anything from a store. Open nidavellir in your mobile browser, then pick “Add to Home Screen” from the share or menu button. An icon lands on your home screen, and tapping it launches nidavellir full-screen — no address bar — like an app. This approach is called a PWA.
PWA
Short for “Progressive Web App.” In plain terms, it is a website you use like an app. Instead of downloading from a store, you add it to your home screen, then open it from an icon and use it full-screen.
Add to Home Screen
A feature in your mobile browser’s share/menu. It creates a shortcut icon on your home screen for the website you are viewing. From then on you open it with one tap on the icon, without going through the browser.
In-app purchase
Paying right inside the app through the App Store or Google Play. Instead of typing card details again, it uses the payment method already saved in your store, and that store handles the receipt and any refund.
On mobile, the easiest way is to just ask the AI chat in words instead of using keyboard shortcuts. Try typing something like this on the go.
Ask for a draft
“Draft a one-page proposal for opening a small café.”
Quick polish
“Suggest 3 catchier titles for the deck I just made.”
Pick up where I left off
“Open the project I was building yesterday on the web and tell me what’s next.”
Keyboard shortcuts like ⌘K and ⌘J are a desktop convenience. On mobile you never need to memorize them — with touch plus the AI chat and the on-screen command menu, you can do everything the shortcuts do.
Will things I made on the web show up on my phone?
Yes. Just sign in with the same account. Web and mobile share the same set of projects, so what you make on the web appears on your phone, and the other way around too.
If I pay on my phone, is it the same subscription as the web?
Yes — it upgrades the same subscription on the same account, so it applies on the web right away. Just remember that cancelling or refunding that purchase happens in the store where you paid (App Store / Google Play), not on the web.
Should I install the app or use “Add to Home Screen”?
Both lead to the same nidavellir. The store app pairs nicely with store features like in-app purchases, while Add to Home Screen (PWA) is great when you want to start fast without downloading anything. Pick whichever suits you.
Is my data safe?
Whether on mobile or web, it is the same account and the same servers. You can read how your data and privacy are handled in Data and privacy.
